Smoky BBQ crickets for Sale!!
Not from us. 🙂 There are some for sale in the U.K. though. The maker of the novelty items hopes to sell them as a crunchy snack or garnish for things like tacos. For now, they will see crickets that have a BBQ flavor.
Imagine the fun over Thanksgiving if you served up some bugs with the normal Thanksgiving menu. Yum!
Eat Crickets for a Healthy Gut!
A study finds that eating crickets, even every day, can make you healthier.
Many cultures have been eating crickets for thousands of years. In the United States, any crickets that we eat, are usually consumed by accident.
Anyway, move to a bug based diet if you want some outstanding health benefits and a hoppy life. 🙂
Earthworm Jerky
You are transplanting your seedlings into cellpacks and pots, you scoop a handful of worm castings into your potting mix and you suddenly have hunger pangs. You wash your hands, head to the kitchen, pull out a bag of your favorite snack and pop some worm jerky into your mouth. Yum.
Well, now that fantasy can become reality because someone has created worm jerky. The worm jerky makers also make other jerky and operate out of Rhode Island. Do a search for “Worm Jerky” and order a bag. For now, I am going to stick with sugar-free Jello, but worm jerky could be just around the corner.
Nicole Kidman Eats Bugs
It looks real to me. I have been growing insects for over 20 years, and knowingly ate one, but they are good, lean, clean protein.
I won’t starve here on the farm. 🙂
Bread Made Out of Insects. Yummy!
Have you ever had a hankering for mealworm macaroni or fried fireflies? How about bug bread? Well, if you have, you are now in luck because a bread maker is starting to make bread made out of crickets for Human consumption. Insects are low in fat and high in protein. Bugs are a buffet item in other parts of the world, but will cricket casserole ever make it big in America? Maybe with time, or increased hunger, worms will inch their way into mainstream cuisine.
