Aeluropoda insignis
“Flat Body Hisser”
Insignis is in the house, representing Aeluropoda. In fact, they are the only genus of Aeluropoda as of this writing. A. insignis gets its common name from its flat body as compared to the other hissing roaches hissing roaches hailing from Madagascar.
This is an easy Madagascar Hissing Roach species to cultivate and handle. A tight fitting lid is needed to keep nymphs contained as they are great climbers and escape artists.
. Flat body hissing roaches prefer things on the dry side and thrive on normal roach food of fruits, vegetables, and dog food. Size ranges from 1.4-2.5″ .
